What does it mean to have family and cultural patterns?
The answer is very simple. These are patterns that you adopted as a result of the environment in which you grew up in. These, at one point, were completely normal and accepted.
Let me share some examples:
Let's begin with family. If you grew up in a home that struggled financially, you may have adopted poverty and lack consciousness. You may have adopted a belief that money is bad or that only certain people could have nice things. As a result, you fear spending money because you are afraid that it will run out or the opposite, you overspend because you fear your good can get taken away. People will often associate money with greed because you believe only greedy people have a lot of things so you may have adopted a lifestyle where you are constantly leaking your energy and getting taken advantage of because you refuse to charge money. Did your parents teach you this? Was this their way of justifying their own poverty consciousness?
What was your parents' relationship with each other? What did you learn from observing that? What was their relationship like with you? Were you abused? Was another sibling favoured over you? We tend to put our parents up on a pedestal and take in everything they say and show us as gospel. They were our first role models for everything. Let's take a closer look at what exactly they taught you.
Cultural patterning was established long before you were born. Cultural groups that experienced repression, colonization and genocide carry the memory of the experience. Native Americans refer to this as "blood memory". They get stuck in a cycle, generation after generation. As a Native North American woman, I have witnessed this amongst my people. In Canada, there is a very high rate of poverty, addictions, suicide, crime, high school/college drop outs, teen pregnancy and domestic violence. There is a high population of Native North Americans in the prison system and missing and murdered women. The core upset here is worthiness. They believe that the past broke them, that they lost something that cannot be recovered. I have witnessed enormous transformations in people that society would have saw as a "lost cause" just from taking part in cultural activities and learning their language and awakening to their true self! Perhaps you have a similar pattern in your culture that you feel is holding you back and leaves you feeling victimized by stereotypes? It's time to take your power back here!
I would love to work with you and uncover these patterns that you may be numbed out to. Please refer to the Ascension Coaching section of my website to book a session. It is highly recommended that you book a package for a healing such as this, but we can discuss that together. After you have purchased your session, please fill out the form below.
